2nd June 2012 - Warsaw
Poland 4-0 Andorra
Friendly
A return to type for Andorra after their exploits against
Azerbaijan the other day. As expected,
Andorra were simply providing target practice for Poland ahead of their Euro
2012 campaign, a fact borne out as Poland lead 3-0 by half-time. It could easily have been more, as Poland
missed a few decent chances in addition to the ones they put away.
Ludovic Obraniak gave the hosts the lad in the 14th
minute converting a Wasilewski cross from the left. Robert Lewandowski added a spectacular second
with a bicycle kick in the 37th minute followed by Jakub
Blaszczykowski converting a penalty before the break after Marc Bernaus had
fouled him.
Things calmed down after the break as changes were made to
both line-ups, but Andorra proved their own worst enemy again late on by
conceding another penalty which Marcin Wasilewski put away.
Andorra will next see action in a friendy in Vaduz against
Liechtenstein, a definite opportunity for more ranking points. But of course by then Andorra will no longer
be a basement dweller of interest to us.
